Project Management

Our Methods

How Will A Project Be Managed?

When you are investigating software development companies to collaborate with, one of the biggest considerations is how a project will be managed. You need to know that timescales are reasonable, targets will get hit and everyone will remain focused throughout the process. Our project management methods follow industry-wide best practices based around the Agile approach and its philosophies.

What Is Agile?

Agile project management is an iterative approach to delivering a project throughout its life cycle. It uses incremental steps to move a project towards completion because you can adjust as you go along, rather than following a linear path.

Agile also aims to release positive benefits throughout the process, rather than just at the end. The core values and behaviours which guide the approach are trust, flexibility, empowerment and collaboration.

We Use Scrum

We use a Scrum approach, generally with 2-week long sprints. A project is broken down into a series of sprints, each one taking a small set of features from an initial idea to coded and functionality at the end. The sprints always prioritise creating the most valuable features of the software first. Once completed, the features created in the sprint get integrated into the final product or system.

The final product is continually evolving as the sprints progress, and reviews happen at the end of each one. In the review sessions, the team demonstrates the new functionality and you have the opportunity to provide feedback. This will influence what happens in the next sprint and ensures a continuous dialogue between you and the developers, meaning you get what you want at the end.

The Scrum Process Outlined

Internally, we also do a retrospective analysis at the end of the sprint. This gives our team a chance to identify areas we want to improve, ensuring continual development of our own processes and advancing our Quality Assurance.

For us, the best thing about using Agile/Scrum is the engagement and collaboration between our team and you, the stakeholder. You know your users best, and our processes focus on realising your vision for them in the way that you want.
