Capturing conversations and turning them into action
Voicicle is an in-house Android application built by Kew Consulting to record, transcribe, and summarise the conversations that matter most. We wanted a tool that felt as natural as opening the phone voice recorder, yet delivered structured notes, highlights, and follow-up actions within minutes.
The product combines native capture, third-party transcription services, and AWS workflows so that every conversation is securely stored, processed, and shared with the right people. It is now used across internal workshops, client interviews, and user research sessions.
Challenge
Our consultants and product strategists needed a way to capture multi-speaker conversations without juggling laptops or scribbling incomplete notes. The recordings had to be encrypted, accurately transcribed, and ready to search within hours of a workshop finishing.

Solution
We designed Voicicle as a modular system: the Android client handles capture and offline storage, while AWS services orchestrate transcription, natural-language processing, and delivery. Third-party engines (Deepgram, AssemblyAI, and Google Speech-to-Text) are selected dynamically per recording to maximise accuracy for different accents and environments.

AWS Amplify bootstrapped authentication, S3 provided secure recording storage, and Step Functions stitched together third-party transcription callbacks.

Outputs are enriched with Amazon Comprehend for sentiment plus custom NLP that extracts decisions, owners, and deadlines for summaries.
- Continuous delivery
GitHub Actions pushes Android builds to testers, and Infrastructure as Code keeps staging and production stacks aligned.
Secure capture
Zero-setup sessions, automatic speaker labels, and on-device encryption mean recordings remain confidential even when phones are offline.
Transcribe & summarise
Third-party engines are orchestrated via AWS Lambda, while custom prompts generate concise summaries, bullet highlights, and action registers.
Outcome
Voicicle shortens the time between meeting and insight from days to minutes. Researchers can tag key quotes, project leads receive ready-to-share updates, and clients benefit from accurate transcripts attached to every decision log.
The platform is now part of our delivery toolkit and is being offered to partners who run training, coaching, and compliance reviews that rely on detailed audio notes.
What’s next
We are experimenting with multilingual translation, bringing the Android experience to iOS, and exposing the transcription pipeline via API so other teams can hook Voicicle into their knowledge bases.
